Hair Supplements

Shampoo, conditioner and treatments can work wonders on hair, there's no substitute for having adequate quantities of essential nutrients in our diets - this can make the work of repairing damage easier. In our busy lives or after periods of illness, our levels of vitamins and minerals can become low and it may be suitable to consider supplements.

B Vitamins are water-soluble vitamins and cannot be stored by the body. As a result, they are required constantly. They're needed for a healthy nervous system and brain, as well as to convert food to energy and metabolise fats and proteins. In addition, they help to stimulate healthy hair, skin, eyes and internal organs. A low intake of Vitamin B has been linked to hair loss, flaking nails, greying hair and poor complexion amongst other conditions.

Herb UK , the UK 's largest independent manufacturer of hair products, is launching their own Hair Supplements to help promote healthy locks from the inside. These are Vitamin B-Complex capsules manufactured to the highest standards and with the finest ingredients, and particularly recommended for those with hair in poor condition or experiencing mild hair loss.

Herb UK Hair Supplement capsules are free from yeast, additives, sugar, lactose and gluten and are vegetable capsules. They are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.

The company then picked up a second award: New Forest Business of the Year 2009. 60 businesses from across the New Forest were represented on the night and awards were given for six categories. The Business of the Year was the overall winner from amongst the winners of these six categories. The award recognises successful companies which show high levels of achievement within their core business.

Craig Esterhuizen, our QA Manager, was instrumental in Herb UK Ltd achieving these awards, so big thanks go to him. In Store Support Success for Tints of Nature

In Store Demo DaysHerb UK has launched a UK tour of health stores to promote the brand and support retailers by encouraging customers to try home hair colour.

Claire Rodgers, Herb UK's colour specialist has been in store to give advice and colour consultations. The days have been supported by competitions in regional newspapers offering a number of lucky readers the chance of having their hair coloured by Claire in-store.

"We felt it was a great success and everyone who had their hair coloured with the product was impressed by the colour and soft, shiny condition of the hair," said retailer Gill Silverthorn, owner of The Bran Tub in Petersfield.

New Bottle and Cap for Tints of Nature Colour Gel

Here at Herb UK we are always on the look out to improve our production processes, create less waste and be more environmentally friendly. Therefore we are in the process of introducing a new bottle and cap for our Tints of Nature colours which meets the above requirements.

Our new bottle no longer requires the foiled seal due to a new cap, which has a skirt seal. Both the bottle and cap are now manufactured by the same company and are designed to work together to create a perfect seal. The previous bottle and cap were sourced from separate suppliers, which meant that closure of the bottle was variable hence the need for the product to be sealed.

The benefits of the new bottle and cap are:

  • Bottle and cap are aesthetically pleasing due to the green cap matching the bottle.
  • We are still providing an air tight seal without the need to peel off added foil.
  • Cap is fully recyclable, whereas the foil on the old bottle was not.

The bottles are made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) and are recyclable (Plastic Recycling category 1) and the caps are made from PP (Polypropylene) and are recyclable (Plastic Recycling category 5).
